Essential safety notes for a secure and uplifting aerial experience

Please read the following Dos and Don’ts carefully before use.

We recommend for all knots and rigging to be carried out by staff.
Please ensure that all points are thoroughly checked before / after use at each session.

β™₯ Thank you for keeping the space safe for all β™₯

  • Multiple climbing ropes with carabiners attached, hanging on a white wall mount.

Ropes should be tidy and aligned, with no overlapping at ALL times.

  • A person's hand holding a black climbing rope with yellow specks, with several carabiners attached to other ropes and hooks on a beige wall.

Ropes should not be overlapping other points. Risk of rope cutting when under heavy load.

  • A person holding a black and yellow climbing rope that is knotted, next to carabiner hooks attached to a wall mount, with a red 'X' symbol indicating an incorrect method.

Knots should not have loose spots in the knot. Easy to unravel.

  • Close-up of climbing harnesses with metal carabiners and black ropes attached to a white surface.

Only 1 loop attached in each point at a time. Base knots must NEVER be untied.

  • Comparison of two black and yellow climbing ropes, one knotted improperly marked with a red cross and one knotted correctly marked with a green check mark, on a neutral background.

Observe the different shapes. Knot of left is incorrect.

  • Close-up of a black climbing rope tied in a knot, with metal carabiners attached, secured to a white metal anchor plate on a concrete surface.

Intermediate points should rightly be a FIGURE-8 or ALPINE BUTTERFLY knot. Note the distinct shape of the number β€œ8” in Figure-8 knot.

Other knots run the risk of unravelling and sudden drop of the apparatus during use.

  • A hand holding a black rope tied in a knot, with a tiled gray floor in the background.

Loops for the intermediate points should at least fit our four fingers/palm.

  • Person holding a rope with a knot, with a red cross overlay indicating incorrect knot tying.

Do NOT use Single Loop knots as they can unravel due to tension and the inherent structure of the knot.

  • A hand holding a black, braided climbing rope with a red 'X' symbol next to it.

This loop here is too small and runs the risk of retracting and unravelling when this rope is loaded using one of the other points. The knot failure will be sudden and cause a sharp drop. It’s dangerous.

  • Climbing gear with carabiners and ropes hanging on a wall.

Adding 1 (only) carabiner to increase length slightly as a quick fix is ok. Please return to rack after use.

  • A white cloth bag hanging on a black hook attached to a wall with a red circle and cross symbol nearby indicating an action that is not allowed.

Sleeves are used to reduce hardware sound and wear down. Please ensure that locks are securely fastened and not obstructed by sleeves.

  • A spreader must be used with hammocks. No double loading of carabiners on one point.

Always use a spreader with hammocks. Avoid double-loading carabiners on a single point.
